ALDI Recalls Happy Farms Cream Cheese Due to Potential Salmonella Risk

In cooperation with Schreiber Foods, Inc., and out of an abundance of caution, ALDI Inc. has issued a recall of its Happy Farms Whipped Cream Cheese Spread, Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread, Cream Cheese Spread, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Spread products. These items are being recalled due to potential contamination with salmonella, a bacteria that can cause severe illness.

  • Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread (8 oz. cup)

The recalled cream cheese products were sold at select ALDI stores in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

What You Should Do: Customers who have purchased any of these products are advised to discard them immediately or return them to their local ALDI store for a full refund.

Health Risks: Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the infection can lead to more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis in healthy individuals.
